When she first heard about this event from Shouko she immediately thought that it would be very entertaining and amusing. Seeing a large group in action with every person for themselves was just so unpredictable and exciting. Would some people team up? Would others dive right in? She wouldn't know where to look first. But all this was on the assumption that she would be watching the show as a spectator on the stands. So how exactly did she find herself walking out on the field itself heading to her assigned starting position? Even Karen herself wasn't sure. Perhaps it was a combination of Shouko's pushiness and maybe some egging on from some certain upperclassmen. But the bottom line was that she was now a participant.
Reaching her designated spot, she paused to think about how she would approach this. She was on one of the first tier platforms right next to the ramp leading up to her level. For anyone who couldn't fly or jump high and wished to go up, they would be using this to go straight at where she was. There were a couple of people close by below but they weren't the only ones she had to worry about. To her side was the second tier platform and a very strong upperclassman was waiting on top. Except that when the signal to begin goes off, there was no guarantee that they would just stand around waiting. They might just jump down to where she was. If the person up there had been a fellow first year then she might have taken the chance to go up and get the higher ground. But that option felt a little too dangerous now.
She wasn't along on the first tier platform either. On the same level on the other side of the second tier platform was yet another upperclassman. But she was a bit more familiar with this one. There was a high chance that person would go up instead of coming after her as they were the type to chase after strong people, based on the impression she got. In that case maybe the best move was to go down, literally lying low, and let the upperclassmen fight among themselves up top. It was really hard to decide.
As she was lost in her thoughts, she was doing her stretches in preparation. She was wearing her custom hero attire today. While upperclassmen were encouraged to hold back, the first years could apparently give it their all. It was a bit unfair but it would give them a chance to possibly win if they play their cards right. And so in this regard she was wearing what would allow her the most optimal use of her quirk. No doubt being able to activate it at full power on demand would prove useful here.
There was still a bit of time before the main event started. While the list of participants was long, it didn't seem like everyone who signed up intended to go through with it so there were actually fewer people around than expected. Perhaps having less opponents would make things easier to manage. She took a deep breath and waited patiently for the event to begin.
Yui had signed herself up for a game! She didn't exactly know what the term brawl meant, but it sounded a lot like chess! Anyone who knew Yui the girl was obsessed with chess and games in general. However she NEVER expected this to be such a large game, there were several "mountains" and bridges that linked the mountains. There were no black spots and white spots like her usual chest board. But! If you look at it at a different angle, it's still a strategy game. She skimmed through the rules earlier to see if they covered every single angle and to be honest, they did a pretty good job that she couldn't do any of her usual silliness or tricks. She'd have to rely on her wits and the "pawns" around her in order for her to come out on top. When she meant pawns she really meant Kazu and some other people if they were willing to cooperate with her. She had grown to enjoy Kazu a bit, he was neurotic which she liked and really fun to tease. But most importantly she knew she could probably force his hand to help her out, after all he knew better than others what she's capable of..
Also that guy who offers her candy, better known as Reddarcc was also there, she wondered what he was capable of doing and if he thinks he could bribe her into teaming up with him. To be honest, if he had offered she would definitely not say no. She kept her umbrella with her and got into her position, she opened it and twirled it around as she hummed to herself. She saw Kaz and red to her right hand side and waved to them both and gestured she was gonna come over there with a smile on her face! She knew kazu might poop himself and red might have some spare candy on him (hopefully) aside from that Yui didnt really have ties to anyone else here so she didnt really expect anyone to go for her or really interact with her besides those two. maybe that darren guy but he was ALLLL the way on the other side, and because of her god complex...she might target him since he seemed to be the head honcho around the school, or at least someone everyone respected. She wanted that position.
Yui would remain sitting on the edge of the bridge, kicking her feet waiting for the bell or whatever it was that would sound to say that the match has started.

It had been a pretty boring day when Shouko had pitched the idea of the brawl to everyone in UA chat, and Red jumped on the idea instantly, because it sounded fun....unfortunatly, having not really paid attention to the specifics, he didnt realise that A) It was supposed to be a brawl between the first years and B) He'd just opened the literal floodgates for second years to join up. Didnt take long for the big hitters of the school to sign up either, prompting the need of the handicap rule so the first years didnt just die immeditaly upon the start of the round. Apparently he qualified for said rule too, even though he was probably the weakest second year (In his mind). Hell, he wasnt sure he could deal with some of the first years (In his mind), never mind everyone else. But the kid loved a challenge, and this was a chance to prove that maybe he was stronger than he thought he was....Maybe, lets not get too bloody hopeful now.
Standing in the spot Shouko had stuck him in, Red took his chances to size up his competition, see what the field was looking like....and it was not lookin good for the boy, that was for sure. On his right, he had Darren, shadow boxing and stretching, probably to test out those spring braces on his arms, likely the restriction imposed on him for this thing. On top of the pyramid behind him was some first year called Berker or something? Whatever it was, he didnt remember ever seeing the guy until now, so he was an unknown. Across from him on the red platform was Angel, that girl who forgot that the sentai show was for kids, considering her villian outfit, and apparently someone Kaz had pissed off previously, if what Kaz told him was true. Didnt know what her restriction was from looking at her, so she was also an unknown, besides the fact he knew she could fly and fire feathers thanks to sports festival videos.
Speaking of Kaz, he was really close by, just below Red on the left, with Vomit boy from that rescue lesson thing? Whatever that was(Ryuusei) staring him down, so Red would probably have to save Kaz...again. Behind him, on top of the bridge was another first year pacing. If he remembered correctly his name was Krahno and from the looks of it he had an ice quirk.....though he was basing this purely on the guys blue skin, so he could be wrong. He could see Yumi across from him on the upper bridge, and really hoped that he wasnt the first one to get sniped. He could see that she had some weird cuff things on to probably regulate her quirk, but what it did he didnt know, and considering the fair bit of metal on his gear, he didnt wanna find out too soon.
On his left, across on the green platform, was the show runner herself, Shouko, who was probably really excited for this thing to get going. Above her was Tsuji, in costume...and Red was reminded once more that he still didnt have a costume, apparently in his usual Jacket, hoodie, jeans, gloves and skates. He really needed to fix that.....maybe he could use that coat Yumi ma--ok no nows not the time for that. On the bridge closest to Tsuji was Yui, who apparently was planning on coming over to his area, judging from the wave she gave him. He could see Tetsu on top of the Red pyramid, and Sumiko on top of the blue one, both preparing for the fight to commence. He couldnt see Feng but he knew she was here somewhere, and hopefully he'd get to have a shot at payback for what she did to Kaz.
"Heh....been a while since ive felt like this." He'd say to himself, a wild grin starting to form on his face as he began to stratergize. The kid was a veteren of brawls, after all, with the odds being stacked heavily against him since they were always Everyone versus him. He knew he didnt stand a chance if he just went all out guns blazing, because there were people with bigger and more sophisticated guns around him who could end him with a thought. Therefore, he needed to get a couple allies on his side for a temporary alliance. He could probably count on Kaz if he just offered to help him chronicle or something....Yui was coming over, and he had prepared a bag of candy in advance for the purpose of blatent bribery, which he flashed in her direction.
He'd also stuck a small camera on the side of his goggles. Why had he done this? Simple: He could bribe Shouko with the first person brawl footage, hopefully. It was one of the few modifications he'd made to his gear for this event. The other was modifying his momentum cuffs, to have Duel Disks on top of his cannon barrels, which was an idea he got from Daisuke when he wondered if they were weapons. The modifications for the launching mechanism had, theoretically, caused a slight dip in his quirks effective range and stamina, back to almost pre UA levels, but their stopping power and his speed where exactly the same. He could still move effectively too, he guess be able to just forget the bridges and stairs existed and use his natural mobility to move around instead. Trust Red to, instead of just restricting himself go Hey lets test a thing cause it sounds fuckin cool.
He'd continue to stay in his own head until the brawl started, stretching his legs and testing his punches. He was getting antsy, he just wanted to start it up and get to testing how far he'd come. He wouldnt make it to the top, not by a fuckin long shot....but he bet he could put a decent dent in it if he tried. After all, to a lot of people, how his quirk actually worked was probably an unknown. "Lets see how far the weakest second year (Again, in his mind only) can go."
Post by Graham Ashwood on Jul 31, 2019 9:29:04 GMT -4
The premise of this event was simply too exciting for anyone to pass up, wasn't it? Graham wouldn't consider himself just anyone, but he did indeed find quite some interest in this brawl of Shouko's. A twenty-or-so-man battle royale, with open participation to the entire school, first and second years. The classmate of his in charge should be commended simply for the feat of organizing such a thing, though for the moment, she too was an enemy.
His starting position was unfortunate, however. Stuffed away in a solitary corner of the battlefield, both strategically poor and far removed from enemies, with a staircase as his most obvious way forward. There were a few others actually in his sight, at the very least. Jack was on his left, about halfway to the other corner, the faraway silhouette of Isaac beyond that, and far on the right was the other corner, over there was another one with a horned head, like a deer. A strange one, there were a lot of those sorts of people around here apparently. Well, for the rest, there was a light brown head of hair poking out above the stairs ahead, and that would be all to note about those around him. Three-meter-tall walls in front of that would do that to visibility, nothing to be done yet. Climbing up was his first priority, and with the array of knives strapped to his body, he could go around the threat that loomed at the top of the stairs, as long as she wouldn't come after him first.
True, the odds of him winning were as slim as they were for everyone else, especially when they would be against some of the more capable second-year students. For someone without the stamina to keep up, the obvious and most promising tactic would be to try and camp out somewhere, like on top of these block towers, but Graham did not think himself a coward! He would face his foes straightforwardly, though he would like to get to a position that could at least be described as even ground first. The sound of the starting gun was what his ears were trained on, though it would most likely not be a pistol shot.

Chikako had finally semi learned how to control her quirk and was ready to finally put the metal to the test in a public setting, her spars could only do so much especially her solo training. So what better yet then to join this as a form of training. Chikako was starting in the Green zone, she did not know anyone inside the green zone but she assumed they would be pretty strong; it was better to over assume someone's power then underestimate one and get destroyed in her mind. She was anxious, but she was working on clearing her mind.
She drew her shield and clicked on the button inside the glove that kept it on her arm, the shield was starting to uncurl and turn into a type of sickle shape. She breathed in and out deeply and shook her head both ways. "I am ready", she whispered to herself and then stood in a readied position waiting for the start of the brawl to commence. She figured she might as well gun's blazing while she isn't emotional wreck then hide and be scared. She couldn't keep letting her emotions best her and stop her from acheiving what her parents wanted her to do.

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
Everyone wanted to look cool and powerful and smart and all that jazz, at least that was the vibe that basically everyone gave off before entering the Brawlstars Arena. To sum it, it was a big and unhealthy mixture of overly competitive teenagers with a big ego trying, for some reason, to prove they could beat the living crap out of each other because... well, reasons? Ryuusei found out quickly that, in Yuuei, most students took more pleasure in fighting each other than studying o become heroes, which, well, gave room for interesting conclusions.
This is so stupid, he thought while standing at his designated starting place.
But why was someone like Ryuusei here, ready to take part in the Brawl? Well, like most of his bad decisions this could be attributed to Darren Daimon, who basically forced Ryuu to show up and, like always, succeeded against all odds. Some screams about the beauty of chaos, how he wanted to try and kick Ryuu's ass again, some pushes in the direction of the arena and, just like that, Ryuusei was there while against his will.
With his left earing and necklace still on his body, his clothing would definetely be a sign that he didn't care for this as much as others: boots, jeans and a gray sweater was his attire for this so anticipated epic battle royale. He was also not looking around that much, focusing only on the one closest to him for a brief amount of time: a smaller boy with brown hair that, by the shift of a confused expression to one of sudden confidence, seemed weirdly out of place in there.
Ryuusei yawned. If he knew he was going to be here he probably wouldn't have stayed up late reading... nah, he probably would have. Now scratching his hair, he was thinking of ways of, at least, making this somewhat interesting for himself... or at least not totally boring. After some seconds he decided that he wouldn't be using his Quirk: no need for having the entire school know about it and it would be a good bluff in case of encountering someone he knew. He also hadn't brought his knife, so that was also out of the table.
Whatever. Now it was just waiting for the starting signal and see what would happen.

Jack still questioned why he was here. He wasn't exactly in the best mindset for fighting, after all.
However, Shouko had both insisted that he come, and, when he initially refused, had dragged him to the arena where this 'Battle Royale' was set him. The boy was still in his more depressing mood as of late, due to all of the drama that he had to deal with between Aki leaving and his sister attacking him. Shouko had originally mentioned to him that maybe fighting it out would help his mood more, but he didn't really feel that fighting would solve his problems. However...
The feeling in the air, the anxiety that came from enemies literally all around him, the feeling of his blood racing through his veins...his almost animalistic instincts preparing him for battle. He hated the feeling immensely, but at the same time...it fueled him. It cleared his head, filled him with determination to win, to bring his opponents down...it admittedly filled the void inside Jack's heart, at least momentarily. Maybe, just maybe, Shouko had a point with this. He was a dragon, a beast known for it's ferocity and strength in battle. The mere thought of even being related to that snapped Jack out of his darker thoughts, instead filling him with various battle plans and strategies that he should probably follow.
He stood at the northern end of the stadium, dressed in his normal attire of a white, fur-hooded jacket, black jeans, red shirt, blue shoes, fingerless gloves, and golden bracers. Not exactly his attire of choice for something like this, but he didn't really have time to change with Shouko draggin him here. He kept his hands in his jacket pockets, his wings tucked in nicely along his back. To his left was Isaac, and to his right was Graham; both people that he could potentially team up with later on. At least, hopefully. Unless he had to fight them, which wouldn't really be ideal.
He already knew that not only Darren but Tetsuko was here somewhere, so he had to be extremely wary of them both. He at least had...that form up his sleeve, courtesy of Darren, but...well, he wasn't exactly ready to go on a full on rampage just yet. That by itself was a last resort, and one that could also spell his doom if he couldn't retain control of himself.
Nonetheless, he eyed his surroundings warily. He partially wondered if he should take flight immediately to avoid conflict, but he knew that he would likely draw attention to himself from people like Darren, who could also 'fly', in a sense. Maybe he should stick to the darker aspects of his powers and stay hidden for a little bit...

The fellow combatants- No, it should be fellow students- trickled into the arena. Some of them, Shouko even recognized! As for the rest, she would memorize their faces… After all, anyone who would show up for a battle such as this, was a person worthy of her interest! It was only a shame that Hanamin wasn’t interested, and that Mianon was not available… It was going to be so much fun! But then, she did need someone to capture the whole thing on film, because it was going to be wild and craaazy!
It was purely random chance that her starting location had been so close to the middle, but it was absolutely ideal! Below her, she could see Kazzun, and mysterious upperclassman Ryuusei-senpai! She didn’t know much about him, but Darren-senpai had brought him, so he had to be interesting! She looked across to the blue tower- Alas, it remained empty, but below her on the yellow tower stood Reddarc-senpai, the first upperclassman to sign up! A soft chuckle escaped her as she glanced at the last person on the second tier, Angel, and considered telling the two to switch. Red on red, how had that not been the case!?
But she resisted the urge and continued to cast her gaze along the gathered friends. Many of them stood on the other side of the platforms, hidden from her view- But as the organizer, she knew exactly who was where! For instance, that beyond Reddarc stood dangerous Darren-senpai… Even with a handicap, he was going to be a tough cookie! She wondered who would have the misfortune of coming across him first. And then there was Yumi-senpai, whose devastating electricity would be a shock to anyone on that side of the map! Which included Class President Karirin… Speaking of whom, RNGesus clearly was biased, he’d put both flyers on the same level of the same platform! But would they run into each other, or head in opposite directions?
But it seemed likely that by the time she could know, she’d be busy with her own side of the map… How sad! She’d have to watch the whole thing later, that was for sure! With the last stragglers trickling in, it approached time to start- It was unfortunate that the number of people didn’t quite match up to the number who had signed up, buuuut…. It was to be expected that some people would get cold feet! Take Fukukaichou, for instance… If she hadn’t caught him red handed, he was planning on ditching! The nerve! And after she’d placed him in a nice, cushy place surrounded by other first years, too!
With everyone settled into position, the brunette could only give up on browsing the competition with an internal sigh. It was fine and all to predict how things would go, but would take too much time to cover all of the possibilities! People would get antsy! Since no one else was likely to arrive, she could only wait so long before announcing the beginning. With one last glance over her classmates- A lot of them had signed up, to her bemusement, she took in a deep breath. “Ahem!” She cleared her throat. No microphone was needed, the girl’s voice reverberating through the concrete walls with no need for amplification in the slightest. “Thank you all for coming! And an especial thank you to Geist-sensei and the other teachers, without whom this would not have been possible!” She looked to the stands, where the teachers would be waiting to rescue anyone in excessive danger.
“While you’ve all signed the waivers let me remind you that-“ The girl rummaged around for a sheet of paper. “UA is not responsible for any injuries incurred during the course of this training exercise. Please be mindful of your strengths. While there are teachers who will be able to intervene if necessary, we should aim to require their services as little as possible.”[/b] She threw the paper in the air. “And that’s it for the legal mumbo jumbo! In short, try not to break anything!” To those who knew her, this cavalier attitude would be much more familiar than the solemnity with which she read from the script. “If a teacher says you’re out, you’re out! Last one standing wins! Think of everyone else as a villain! As far as anything else, knock yourself out… Just make sure to take someone else with you!” There were no rules in love and war! Smacking one fist into another, Shouko finished with the long awaited words.
“And so, on the count of three! One…! Two…! Three…! GO!”
In time with her announcement, a buzzer would ring, making sure everyone knew that the match had started! For her part, Shouko would not drop down towards Kazzun and Ryuusei-senpai… That name was too long, just call him Ryuusenpai! As curious as she was about Ryuuseinpai’s abilities, she had only just fought Kazzun- She wanted to see something even newer! Charging across the bridge towards Reddarc-senpai, then, was a very attractive option, but it was still not the one she took. That close to Darren? No way! She wanted to see as much as possible, not get knocked out in the first batch! Besides, when it came to the view… As a wise man once said, ‘The view is always better from the rooftops!’
With a whirl, the girl charged up the ramp behind her- Discarding her tunic was done in such a smooth movement, it almost seemed she had planned to do so, rather than only just realizing she’d forgotten to take it off! She hoped it wouldn’t be too trampled over, as the thick cloth and its sash both floated to the ground behind her. Clad in nothing save for her battle dress, the armor of stone which had been carved out of her quirk that very morning, the girl ascended to the top tier platform where Tsuji Kuma had started. Ah, but she was treating him as a villain, therefore… He was not Tsuji-senpai, but the Bear Villain, Kumainu! And not much farther away would be those who began on the bridges, the 1-C president Yui- Eh, what was her power again? How could she be given a good villain name without knowing her quirk? Oh well, she’d learn soon enough! And down below was the Blue Bom- Oh wait, that was copyright infringement. In any case, it was Support Studies’ Krahno Kahlo, a boy whose quirk was… Having blue skin? Something like that. And below stood Chikako, an upperclassman she wasn’t familiar with. While the tall walls would make it harder for her to reach the top than Shouko who had used the ramp, if she was agile enough she could easily join the others on the top level. As such, Shouko could only keep an eye on the edge of the platform, in case the other were to rise over it!
While she really wanted to use this vantage point to watch the battles going on around the field, but she was not so arrogant as to do so with opponents in front of her! As such, she resisted the urge to look down and see who Darren-senpai had singled out… Instead, she planted her feet, raised her arms into position, and grinned wildly. “Yo, Kumainu!” She beckoned towards the Ursine student. “This platform ain’t big enough for the two of us!”
But would he accept her challenge, or choose to cede the platform for her viewing pleasure? Or perhaps, would someone else choose to join the fray… The possibilities were endless, and Shouko had designs on seeing each and every one of them!
Summary: Battle, start! Shouko runs up the ramp to (E-7) Shouko reveals her battle dress as she runs. Enters combat stance, challenges Tsuji for control of the vantage point.
Let the games begin! As I did, please tag anyone who is (A) directly interacted with in your post, whether you called to them from across the way, or you threw a punch at their face (B) Close enough that you believe that they could reasonably interact with you.
In this case, I pinged Tsuji, who Shouko had called out to, as well as Yui, Krahno, and Chikako, who were relatively close to her final position. I’ll be adding on-site tags to the google document for convenience soon.
In addition, please include a tl;dr of your actions because there will be a lot to read through, even after shortening it to the few people you need to worry about interacting with.
Don’t worry about responding to everyone who tags you! Just because someone is close enough to interact with, doesn’t mean you have to interact with them! Shouko may have challenged Tsuji, but it is within his rights to say, “Eh, I’d rather go after Yui on the bridge.”
The 48 hour rule is being STRICTLY enforced from here on out. I will do my best to make sure everyone is aware when it is their turn, but please make sure to keep in mind where you fall in the post order and watch the thread. Wouldn’t want to lose due to not realizing it was your turn until the guy after you gets pinged! If you miss your post, you have until the end of the posting round to re enter the order- However, if someone who interacted with you posts again before you do, it is assumed that their attack connected, along with all the consequences of this.
If I missed any rules, please hit me up on Discord and I’ll make something up on the spot.

Owen couldn't help but get quite impatient, continuing to jog in place, eventually closing his eyes and tilting his head back, almost as though he was in some sort of meditative state. In the loosest sense he was, the usually scattered boy pulling his thoughts together and trying not to psyche himself out before the fight even began. It's fine, he's fairly strong, decent at fighting, really good at running, not that running away would be an option, he was here to look cool, after all, and running away was decidedly uncool.
He opened his eyes and stopped his stationary jogging as the student that organized the event began speaking, listening to her rules and whatnot. As far as he could tell, the gist was beat people up, but don't try to kill anyone or something silly like that.
Then came the count. Here we go, this is Owen's time. He knelt down in a runner's stance as the count continued, and as the event organizer let out the final signal to begin, the antlered lad was off.
First thing's first, get out of that corner! He ran to the ramp on his right, hooves clacking upon the ground as he climbed the incline and found himself faced with a student contender he hadn't noticed before. Darren, wasn't it? He was strong, right? Of course he was, he ran the Martial Arts Club! Right? Owen could never remember these sorts of details, he was more of a vague ideas guy. Vague ideas like 'I think that's Darren and he's strong so I'll look cool if I immediately pick a fight with him.'
With zero hesitation, the boy changed his direction slightly, quickly closing in on the senior student. The clacking would stop as the young Irishman went airborne, launching himself at Darren with a two-hooved dropkick, just generally aimed at his center mass. "HYAAAAAH"
Owen wasn't an idiot. He was kind of dumb, but not a total idiot. He knew that challenging a reputably strong second year wasn't a good idea for winning, but as long as he could put up some sort of fight, as long as he didn't get immediately brushed aside, then that was fine, because he'd look cool and daring for doing this!

As Yumi looked across everyone getting ready, she decided on something. She had to make sure she actually did something here. The smart move would be to do her best and run away from the dangers present but even with her limiters she was sure she was probably one of the biggest players on the field here. She had the capacity to fire blasts across the length of the entire arena practically if she got a good vantage point, her blasts packed a punch, and with her ability to fly it would be hard to corner her…yeah. She could hide, wait for everyone to tire eachother out, and come out at the end but…she wanted to do something here. Make an impact. Let loose and have some fun. She wouldn’t be doing that if she just hit herself away.
Darren and Tetsuko, both still rang out in her head as the main players on the field here and she tried to clock onto them the moment she was determined to make her move. The game hadn’t started just yet, but she could see Tetsuko on one of the upper platforms connected to her bridge, while Darren couldn’t be seen from her current vantage point. That was her first move then, get a new vantage point. As she was half formulating her plan, the start signal blared out, and she had to go with what little she had.
Sparks radiating off of her body, she moved the instant she could. Staying still in a game like this was probably a death sentence and she rocketed up into the air above the center of the battleifled, small sparks connecting her to each of the four bridges as she stabilized herself in the center. Her sharp golden eyes rapidly began scanning about, using her new vantage point to get as good a view of the battlefield as she could. Just barely, behind one of the raised platforms, she spotted it, the golden top of Darren’s head. Looked like he already had a taker too. Yumi could take advantage of this, but to act too soon…
She knew Darren well enough, Owen, as far as Yumi could recall, was incredibly fresh faced in comparison to the second Year Darren. That meant Darren could not only easily get around their attack, but he was gonna try and style on him a little. She waited for her opportunity. The moment Darren acted on Owen’s attack, she’d follow his motions, and throw her arm forward, a streak of electricity firing down towards him from her position in the center of the field, trying to catch him on his escape trajectory, not holding much back as she through out the maximum charge she could achieve with the special limiters she’d been forced to wear.
Yumi rocketed up using her speed and flight, hovering as high as she can in the center of the field, higher than the highest platforms. Yumi surveyed the entire field from her new vantage point. Knows everyone’s general location Saw Owen was going after Darren. Let it happen, watched how Darren reacted, fired at him the moment he acted to try and catch him mid-act.

Nicholas looked around his location but it seemed he was pretty much alone where he was. The stadiums weren't that high and a good jump could place him on top of them so there was that. As the speech from his classmate hit his ears he began stretching out his body. Bouncing on the balls of his feet he rolled his neck and shoulders to limber up and get the blood pumping nice and good. He had seen some of the older students wearing weights and it irked him how weak he still was compared to even his own class mates and the second years here. Hard to be a bad ass when you don't have the skills to back it up. But for now he would focus on what he could do and against those he could be effective against. As the horn sounded for them to begin, Nick bulked up his muscles, running, his opponent was Isaac at the other end of the ring by the ramp.
He knew his class mate had some kind of sticky ink like stuff having seen it in class before so him being the closest person gave Nick an opponent. His lean body moved quickly across the gap as he closed in on the other guy. "Hey Isaac, let's Dance!" He pushed off the ground and leaped into the air, his body rocketing upwards before he came down, using momentum and force, he balled his right fist and pulled back his arm as his muscles expanded outwards. His hair flying back from the fall towards the ground and his fellow classmate. His fist aimed squarely for the middle of his class mates face.

He cracked neck and knuckles, and with one last sharp expiration the match began.
In less than a second the arena would be engulfed in chaos, but a fleeting instant there was a lull, a calm before the storm. Keep clam, Darren reminded himself. Beware of your surroundings. An attack could come from anywhere. With this brace weighing him down and this many opponents, the key to this fight will be spatial awareness and conservation of energy, not punching out whoever came to challenge him.
He buried his mounting excitement at the thought of being surrounded by enemies. If he fought cockily, like the delinquent he used to be, he wasn’t going anywhere. As much as he liked to call the newbies “weaklings” or “small fry”, he knew that they packed a lot more punch than the average middle school delinquent. Those “weaklings” had been the strongest around where they came from; UA was just on a completely different level.
The fleeting instant didn’t last long, as its name indicated, and chaos began.
The first thing Darren noticed was the familiar crackle of blue sparks -- not his: the light blue sparks of his classmate Yumi, whose first action was to take to the air in the center of the field. Her game plan was exactly what he expected it to be: stay far away from any attackers, blast from a range. She had the power and accuracy to threaten the whole field from up there, so no doubt would the others take notice as well.
The second thing he noticed was the clacking of hooves getting closer. Such a sound could only come from one student: the cervidae-mutated first year, Owen O’Sullivan -- though Darren had no idea what his name was and in the absence of a better nickname, creatively called him ‘deer boy’. The clacking stopped. Owen bent the knees, loading his body up like a spring and Darren knew a flying kick was coming; the form, the intense aura, the look in the boy’s eyes were something an experienced martial artist like Darren would recognize from a mile away.
The best course of action was, of course, to look away.
Murphy’s law, Geist called it. Assume the worst is going to happen and plan accordingly. The wisdom in that phrase was plain to see, and it was rather self-evident how it applied to a battle royale. One would be a fool to assume that would be the only attack to come; groups of villains didn’t take turns with their attacks, they didn’t hesitate to ambush and trick and overwhelm the pros with numbers. This exercise was preparation for that sort of situations. Never think you’re only going to get hit by only one attack. Always assume another is coming.
So in a split-second, he checked his surroundings. The two closest and most dangerous opponents were Elise and Miku, respectively down below and on the bridge. Elise he was less worried about: she’d probably gun for Tetsuko, either to help her or fight her. The one he was much more worried about was Miku. They were friends and bandmates, yes, but Darren recalled all too well the last free-for-all they had been in and the accusations of collusion that ensued. If he was right about this, she’d definitely use the opportunity to show everyone that no, she wasn’t colluding with Darren and she could damn well attack him. Lastly, Red was close by, and as much as the delinquent hoped he’d choose to break his arms against someone else, he wouldn’t put it past the neurotic britbong to come straight for him.
Enemies on all sides. His blood was boiling, but he did his best to keep a cool head. Don't shit in the soup. First, the immediate danger, deer boy.
He finally turned to face the rapidly approaching dropkick, though this quirk survey had taken him half a second at most, hands in a tighter Philly Shell stance than usual. The kick was fast and competently thrown, with respectable power behind it, but Darren was faster. He saw the line for it, but he resisted the urge to counter with a technical throw. Spatial awareness. Conservation of energy. Don’t punch out.
Instead, he simply side-stepped around the attack, making use of his quirk and martial arts experience to nail the timing and secure a safer situation, with Owen now between him and the fighters on the bottom-right block. He couldn’t help but throw a couple of lightning-quick jabs as they exchanged positions. Small movements, safe and boring. Don’t punch out. Stay on your toes. Be ready to dodge the second attack.
And sure enough, the attack came; Murphy’s law was a thing of terrible beauty. He swayed from thunder itself, feeling the static on his skin as it grazed a few centimeters from his face as the sparks from his own quirk usage dissipated. Those long-range electric blasts he had dodged a thousand times in training and heroics classes, and as long as he expected them, at this range, he would keep dodging them. Three clean hits and he was out, he promised. He wouldn’t let Yumi land one so soon.
"Be careful, deer boy, it ain't just me you need to worry about. Watch your back." Darren smiled. He was still in his stance, fleet-footed as ever, ready to dodge any other attack that would come his way. Outwardly, he looked calm. His shoulders were relaxed, and his body still felt light in spite the brace. Conservation of energy. Economy of movement.
Yet there was an unmistakable spark in his eye; the spark of a delinquent with something to prove and who was getting excited.
Fuck, man. I really want to brawl.
tl;dr: -Darren wants to win, as always, and he's not enough a fool to style in a situation where he doesn't have a clear advantage -side-steps Owen's flying kick to switch positions and gets in a couple jabs, is expecting more attacks since you know, battle royale -sure enough it comes -sure enough he sways it -banter/psychological warfare -is ready to dodge more, come at me bitches -man id sure like to brawl and stop being careful tho
Aw yeah, the event has finally gotten on its way! Now all he needs is a proper mic so he can start reporting it and....and he still doesn't have it. Hmm, well, most things are often locked behind trials of sorts, so this is clearly just another trial. the trial of...not being given the proper equipment to start recording and commentating on this event. This is...well, it's some sort of trial. Perhaps its, erm, testing his patience? His will? Well, maybe it's all personal talk? He could just try to...just try to...what's that blue light?
Ah right, Tasukai. Her ability to soar with her electricity is nothing short of impressive and also a grand indicator of her chosen one status. But see, she's not the only chosen one here. Perhaps she felt the need to...hmm. It's a bit closer to where he is...kinda feels like she might land over where he is...You know what. Perhaps he's in a bad place. He could always just go...somewhere else and wonder about his predicament...yeah he pro-probably should leave. Still nice to see her in this form. He waves at her not expecting her to notice as he starts heading north towards where Yui is stationed. Perhaps if he goes in that direction, he'll be able to find out more about what exactly he's supposed to do here. After all...he's not a contestant, right?
...R-right? He di-didn't sign up as a fighter, he signed up as a reporter...on a sign up list that...had most of the fighters here...hmmm. Saying a awkward sounding "um...see ya?" to the person closet to him (Ryuusei), Kaz can only ponder as he runs north, with the realization that he may have accidentally signed himself up for the brawl slowly worming into his head. Running into the general direction where Yui is. The same Yui who once attacked him during a candy rush or something. He still doesn't know.
tl;dr: -Starting to realize he's not safe in the middle due to Yumi's stuff, now is running north. He waves goodbye at her and says bye to Ryuusei. -Runs towards under the bridge where Yui is positioned -Still a dumbass.

The brawl was officially on. Shouko had said it perfectly herself, to react as if everyone else was a villain. As if they weren't classmates, just an enemy. An obstacle to your victory. Obviously, one had to restrict themselves from obvious murder or permanent harm, but you wouldn't do that on any random villain either. Regardless, her dragons were excited to get going, snapping their jaws as they continued to glance around in every direction. Sumiko might not know where everyone is, but with their elevated position, they surely do. Staying still in a battle like this was probably a death sentence. Even as she thought that, watching some student blaze bright blue across the sky into the middle of the arena, she knew not even her position was safe. Anyone with range or flight was an immediate danger to her, it was time to get moving.
A quick glance all the way across the platforms revealed a few things. She could risk going down the platforms and having less room to travel, or head along one of the bridges and combat someone either on the bridges or atop another platform. It took no time at all to realize there was someone on the bridge just to her right. Without even a second of hesitation, Sumiko took off. Whoever they were, whatever their skill was, she had a plan. As she sprinted, she mentally directed her dragons to do as instructed. One of them sank back into her skin as the other grabbed onto the ground, only to practically launch her forwards and into the air before vanishing into her skin as well.
Flipping in the air twice, she landed with practiced grace right on the very beginning of the bridge as she continued to run forwards. Getting that nailed just right not only looked impressive, or at least she hoped anyways, but hopefully the element of surprise was still on her side. Shouko's voice was heard from the other side, likely challenging someone, so hopefully everything else on top of that was the distraction she needed to get just close enough.
Without warning, Sumiko would slam her feet into the ground as her dragons quickly formed once more. Their jaws opening and closing, claws out spread ready to fight. Of course, biting or clawing a foe wasn't entirely what she had her mind set on. Swinging her arms, Sumiko would attempt to push her dragons just far enough and knock the girl down off the bridge entirely, hopefully tumbling down below if things went as planned. Their long, heavily scaled bodies should likely do the trick, heavily relying on the hope that it would be rather difficult to dodge around.
tldr: Sumiko got moving. Launched herself with her dragon towards the bridge, where Yui Fujin is. Would attempt to swing her dragons out stretched and simply knock Yui off the bridge.

And the big brawl started! And... things already started going to shit. So much for strategy. Miku now only had one strategy.... Survive. She once again looked at her surroundings, albeit quickly. To the left on the yellow platform, she saw Darren and Deer God(aka Owen). Also someother guy(Red) on the lower yellow platform. To the right on the other platform, the red one, she saw Tetsuko and Angel. She then looked down and got dizzy for a sec, because heights and bridges, but she saw Elise. Miku glared at her. And at the center Miku saw... a mess "I aint going there thats for sure" she thought to herself
So thinking about her choices and where to stike she had to think, which scenario had the best chance. Tetsuko was immediately eliminated. She got to the finales of that stupid tournament if Miku was not mistaken. Plus Elise was sure to jump to Tetsu's rescue because true love and whatever... Bonnie and Clyde if they were villains. So yeah. That was an option to not use. Alternatively Miku could just jump from the bridge and do a 'death from above' slam dunk on Elise. BUUUUT, Elise is a slime girl. Miku's physical attack would do nothin.
Which means there was only one choice, Darren. Plus with him fighting Deer God, it would be easy for Miku to just bonk him hard and eliminate the competition. After that she could swiftly just entagle Deer God, somehow~ Yes yes, that was an idea. But "Before leaving, its time for a parting gift" Miku said to Elise, but it was more like talking to herself, because its not like anyone would hear her. Speaking of a parting gift, that included a few seeds she dropped off the bridge, right below her.
Upon the seeds reaching the ground, Miku used her Quirk and made a tree grow. It grew from down below and grew to past Miku. Fully maturing, the tree provided an element of surprise to the one below Miku. And it provided Miku with a weapon that she just tore off the tree. A branch! A stick! Miku could feel in her arms that this thing that restricted her Quirk made the wood and the tree weird and wonky to her professional touch. She felt it wasnt as strong as it normally is. But luckily, she felt her range was still solid.
Now armed with a stick, she went to engage battle with Darren and Deer God. Well, mostly focusing on Darren. She walks towards that battle to try and bonk her blonde bandmate in the head Important Characters Mentioned: Owen O'Sullivan (Deer God), Daimon DarrenElise Von Eisenberg
What happened -Miku's initial strategy fell apart quickly (surprise surprise) -She gave a quick 2nd look around -She considered other scenarios and options before making her move (strategizing whats the best to do) -She chose Darren as her target -But before departing to fight Darren she dropped a few seeds over the brigde (most likely close to Elise) -Miku grew a tree, tore off a tree branch to use as a fighting stick -Now armed, she carefully started walking towards Darren vs Owen Deer God
